2018 Crafts for a Rainy Day, adaptations, crochet, knit, projects

Entre Nous

Craft: Knitting & Crochet

Pattern: Grey Gardens by Kate Burge and Rachel Price

Materials: 1 skein Noro Kureyon (100% Wool), some green yarn for leaves, knitting needles, crochet hooks

img_5726This was my first time using Noro yarn and my second go at entrelac. I enjoyed both the yarn and the pattern so very much! I ended up adapting the pattern out of necessity due to a happy mistake! I ran out of yarn (only purchased one skein) and was forced to think of something different to finish off the pattern. I decided to make a crocheted flower to go around a buttonhole and then crochet a cord to go through the center of the flower/buttonhole as a knotted tie closure. I think the result is beautiful and am so excited to make my own pattern based off of this project. And an unexpected plus? The cowl will also function nicely as an adorable shrug or bonnet for a sweet baby girl!

Happy Knitting (& Crocheting!)
